The whole sequence, both sides

How Blicify works, end to end

Two journeys run through Blicify and they never meet in person. A business buys airtime and hands over a video file. A venue hangs a TV and lets a small player box drive it. Both resolve into one object — the playlist that box downloads.

Side-specific detail lives one click away: for advertisers and host a screen.

The advertiser’s path

Six steps from an empty cart to an ad on a wall.

  1. 01
    Choose your screens
Open the venue map and read a venue’s screens one at a time. Each is priced on its own, runs landscape or portrait, and shows how much capacity is left.
  2. 02
    Book the airtime
Take one, two or three slots — 15, 30 or 45 seconds. Say what the ad is for: each venue can ask us to block categories on its screens, and anything refused is marked before you commit.
  3. 03
    Pay from a balance
No card is charged at checkout. You load prepaid credit once and bookings come out of it. Paying reserves airtime only — the screen still shows nothing.
  4. 04
    Upload your video
Each booked screen carries its own creative, unless you first group screens of the same shape and length — a group shares one upload. MP4 or MOV, H.264 or HEVC, SDR, 1080p to 1440p, 30 fps, under 100 MB, cut to the slot length you bought. Audio is stripped — screens play silent.
  5. 05
    A person reviews it
Someone at Blicify watches every upload, including the first. A rejection names its reason; replace the file, or email us to appeal. Swapping a running ad changes nothing until the new file clears.
  6. 06
    It enters the rotation
Approval rewrites that screen’s playlist, and the box behind the TV picks the file up on its next check. Nothing is trafficked by hand.

The venue’s path

Five steps from a wall you already own to money accruing against it.

  1. 01
    Apply from your account
Partner is a capability on an ordinary Blicify account, not a second login. Two fields are required; the optional ones — foot traffic, hours, where the screen would stand — are what an administrator reads.
  2. 02
A screen and a rate are attached
Approved is not the same as earning. A venue or screen still has to be attached to your account with a commission rate on it. Blicify sets that rate; your portal shows it.
  3. 03
We pair the box to the screen
Plug the player box in and it shows an eight-character code on the TV. We enter that code against your screen from our side, which binds the two — nothing for you to type. Screens start switched off; only a live screen with a paired player is sold to advertisers.
  4. 04
    The box pulls and reports
From then on it runs two loops: ask for its playlist, and check in with how it is doing. Both are the box’s own requests, on a cadence we retune centrally.
  5. 05
    Earnings accrue
Commission builds on every booking on your screens, is held sixty days while an advertiser could still dispute the charge, then becomes available as ad credit or a bank transfer.
The handover

Where the two paths meet

Neither side ever contacts the other. A screen carries thirty slots; sold ones hold paid creatives and the rest run house clips, so the loop is as long as the screen’s whole inventory — not as long as whatever happened to sell.

Any change on either side — a video approved, a booking canceled, a balance running dry — rewrites the list under a new version. The box compares versions each time it asks and downloads only when they differ.

Slot

15 seconds, up to three

One slot is 15 seconds; an advertiser holds one, two or three on a screen — 45 seconds at most. Past that, the buy spreads across more screens.

Loop

Unsold slots, filled

Unsold slots are filled with house clips, so a neighbor canceling does not hand everyone else extra playback.

Version

Pull, never push

Every change re-stamps the playlist. The box asks on a schedule and downloads only when its version no longer matches. We never reach into a venue.

How anyone knows it ran

Each check-in leaves a dated record that the screen was awake and working through its loop. Playback is counted from exactly that: confirmed online time divided by the loop’s length, totalled against the venue’s own calendar day rather than ours.

It is an estimate and the product calls it one. A TV on a café wall is not an ad server, so what we show is confirmed uptime against a known loop, plus on-site photos of the screen.

What a play record is made of
Recorded bythe player box, at every check-in
Counted asonline time ÷ that screen’s loop length
Dated bythe venue’s local calendar day, not ours
Shown asa month at a time, screen by screen
